At Poriume, we fully respect your right to control your personal data, including the right to have your account and associated information deleted. This Account Deletion Policy explains in clear terms exactly what happens when you request deletion of your Poriume account, what data is removed, what data must be legally retained, and how to complete the process.
This Policy applies to all users of the Poriume platform — subscribers, agents, and vendors — registered under Poriume IT Services (BN 3611776).
Please read this policy carefully before submitting a deletion request, as account deletion is irreversible.

Before You Delete — Important Considerations
Account Deletion is Permanent and Irreversible
Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. All your profile data, referral history, and wallet balance will be permanently removed. Please ensure you have withdrawn or transferred any remaining wallet balance before proceeding.
Before requesting deletion, please consider the following:
Wallet balance — Any remaining balance in your Poriume wallet will be forfeited if not withdrawn before deletion. Please withdraw or use your balance before submitting a deletion request.
Pending transactions — Ensure all your pending transactions have been completed or reversed before deletion.
Referral earnings — Any unclaimed or unapproved referral bonuses will be forfeited upon account deletion.
Active subscriptions — Services already purchased and delivered cannot be refunded after account deletion.
Virtual account — Do not send any funds to your virtual account after initiating a deletion request, as those funds may not be recoverable.

How to Delete Your Account
You can request account deletion through either of the following methods:
Method 1 — In-App (Recommended):

Open the Poriume app and log in to your account.

Navigate to Settings from the menu or profile section.

Select Account then Delete Account.

Read the confirmation warnings carefully, then confirm your decision.

Your deletion request will be submitted and processed within 30 days.
Method 2 — Email Request:
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line: "Account Deletion Request — [Your Registered Phone Number]".
Include your full name, registered phone number, and email address for identity verification.
Our support team will verify your identity and confirm the deletion request within 2 business days.
Identity Verification Required
For security purposes, we are required to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. This prevents malicious deletion of accounts by unauthorised parties.
Section 04
What Gets Deleted
Upon confirmed deletion of your account, the following data will be permanently removed from Poriume's systems within 30 days of request confirmation:
Your full name, email address, phone number, and state of residence.
Your login credentials (password hash) and transaction PIN.
Your wallet balance and referral wallet balance.
Your referral history and referral programme data.
Your virtual bank account association (the account number assigned by 9Payment Service Bank).
Your in-app settings and preferences.
Your API key (if applicable to agent/vendor accounts).
Your KYC verification status (the verification status flag is removed; see Section 8 for BVN/NIN details).

What We Must Retain (Legal Obligations)
Certain data must be retained even after account deletion to comply with Nigerian law and regulatory requirements. This data is anonymised or pseudonymised where possible and is not used for any marketing or commercial purpose:
Transaction records — Financial transaction logs are retained for a minimum of 6 years as required by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.
Fraud investigation records — If your account was flagged for or involved in a fraud investigation, relevant records may be retained for the duration of the investigation and any related legal proceedings.
Regulatory audit logs — Anonymised platform activity logs may be retained as required by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other regulatory bodies.
Retained Data is Secured
All legally retained data is stored securely with strict access controls. It is used solely for legal compliance purposes and is not accessible to our general operations team.
Section 06
Wallet Balance Before Deletion
Your Poriume wallet balance is a prepaid service credit and is not a bank deposit. Upon account deletion:
Any remaining wallet balance will be permanently forfeited unless a withdrawal is processed before deletion.
If you have a remaining wallet balance greater than ₦200, we strongly recommend contacting support at [email protected] before proceeding so we can assist with a refund to your bank account.
Refund of wallet balance to a bank account is subject to identity verification and may take up to 5 business days.
Poriume reserves the right to deduct any outstanding charges, fees, or disputed transaction amounts from the wallet balance before processing a refund.
Don't Lose Your Balance
Contact us at [email protected] with the subject "Wallet Refund Before Deletion" and we will assist you in withdrawing your balance before your account is closed.
Section 07
Virtual Account Impact
Your 9Payment Service Bank virtual account number is tied to your Poriume account. Upon deletion:
Your virtual account will be deactivated and closed as part of the account deletion process.
Any funds transferred to your virtual account after the deletion request has been confirmed may be lost or unrecoverable. Please inform anyone who might send you funds to stop doing so immediately after you initiate a deletion.
The virtual account number will no longer be associated with your name or identity and cannot be reassigned to you if you open a new Poriume account in the future.

BVN / NIN & KYC Data
Your BVN / NIN Was Never Stored by Poriume
As stated in our Privacy Policy, Poriume does not store your BVN or NIN. These were transmitted directly to 9Payment Service Bank (PayVessel) for virtual account creation and were never retained on our servers. There is therefore no BVN/NIN data on our end to delete.
Regarding your KYC verification status:
Your KYC verification flag (verified / not verified) stored on Poriume will be deleted along with your account.
Your KYC data held by 9Payment Service Bank / PayVessel is governed by their own data retention policies. To request deletion of your data from their systems, please contact PayVessel directly.
Encrypted date of birth (used for KYC matching) stored on Poriume will be deleted within the standard 30-day deletion window.
Section 09
Processing Timeline
Here is a clear timeline of the account deletion process:

Day 0 — You submit your deletion request (in-app or by email).

Within 2 business days — Poriume support verifies your identity and confirms the deletion request via email.

Days 1–30 — A grace/cooling-off period during which you may withdraw your wallet balance or cancel the deletion request by contacting support.

Day 30 — Your account and all associated personal data are permanently deleted from active Poriume systems.

Within 35 days — You receive a deletion confirmation email at your registered address (if available).
During the grace period, your account will be deactivated but not deleted. You will not be able to log in or make transactions. If you change your mind within this period, please contact us promptly.
Section 10
Reactivation
You may cancel your deletion request during the 30-day grace period by contacting our support team at [email protected] with the subject line: "Cancel Deletion Request — [Your Phone Number]".
Once your account has been permanently deleted (after the 30-day period), reactivation is not possible. You are welcome to create a new Poriume account, but your previous wallet balance, transaction history, referral history, and virtual account number cannot be restored.
Section 11
Changes to This Policy
Poriume may update this Account Deletion Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify registered users via in-app notification or email where required.
We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Your continued use of Poriume after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
